About Bodhi Sea Temple
Bodhi Sea Temple is a tranquil oasis nestled in the San Francisco Bay Area, dedicated to offering a space for self-discovery, mindfulness, and spiritual growth. Our center is committed to creating a serene environment where individuals can engage in meditation, attend enlightening workshops, and participate in dharma talks. Founder & Abbess
Venerable Longyun Shi, PhD, BCC-PCHAC, GC-C
Ven. Longyun is a Board-Certified Chaplain with Palliative Care and Hospice Advanced Certification through the Association of Professional Chaplains. She is a certified grief counselor, ordained as a Buddhist nun in 1993 in the Zen Buddhist tradition. She holds a Ph.D. in Religious Studies, trained as a chaplain resident and palliative care fellow at Stanford Health Care from 2015 to 2017. Before transitioning to the current position of a staff chaplain at Stanford Hospital, she was a chaplain at Cancer Center South Bay and the Emergency Department at Stanford Health Care. She conducts clinical chaplaincy research with several academic medical centers. Her research includes mindfulness training for Palliative Care patients, Competency Cultural Education, and Asian Perceptive on Death and Dying. Ven. Longyun has traveled extensively in the United States and overseas to provide spiritual care courses and chaplaincy training.
